To commemorate its 63rd anniversary, the History Department of the Faculty of Cultural Sciences, Udayana University, held a gathering with retired lecturers.
On Monday, August 18, 2025, several lecturers from the History Study Program, Faculty of Cultural Sciences, Udayana University, visited retired lecturers. The gathering was filled with a warm and friendly atmosphere. This time, the visit included stops at the residences of Prof. Dr. Drs. I Putu Gede Suwitha, S.U., and Dr. Dra. Ida Ayu Putu Mahyuni, M.Si.
Amid the cordial gathering, several heartfelt messages emerged from the retired lecturers. They expressed their prayers and hopes for the History Study Program at Udayana University to continue growing and making its presence felt. They also encouraged younger lecturers to remain creative, keep up with developments in the field, and pursue doctoral studies in the near future.
At the same time, they hoped that retired lecturers would continue contributing to the discipline of history by producing scholarly works. “As one big family, we always value the input of our retired lecturers in our efforts to manage and advance the History Study Program, Faculty of Cultural Sciences, Udayana University,” said Anak Agung Inten Asmariati, M.Si., Coordinator of the History Study Program.
Echoing this sentiment, Anak Agung Ayu Dewi Girindra Wardani, M.Si., lecturer in the History Study Program and Secretary of the Faculty Senate, also expressed her joy at being able to meet with retired lecturers. She shared that the meeting brought back many memories—of both joy and struggle—which form part of the journey of the History Study Program as it enters its 63rd year.
