Putu Dyah Pradnya Paramitha, S.S., M.A. Shares Insights on “Women from a Human Rights Perspective” in KMHDI Women’s Class Program
Universitas Udayana proudly highlights the participation of its History Department lecturer, Putu Dyah Pradnya Paramitha, S.S., M.A., as a speaker in the “Kelas Keperempuanan KMHDI” (KMHDI Women’s Class) organized by the Central Board of the Kesatuan Mahasiswa Hindu Dharma Indonesia (PP KMHDI) on 20 June 2025. In this program, Paramitha delivered a presentation titled “Women from a Human Rights Perspective”, which received strong enthusiasm and positive responses from participants across various regions in Indonesia.
The activity forms part of KMHDI’s capacity-building program aimed at enhancing understanding of women’s issues, gender equality, and the rights of women within social, cultural, and legal contexts. As an academic actively engaged in women’s history and human rights studies, Paramitha emphasized that discussions on women cannot be separated from historical structures and social inequalities that continue to shape women’s experiences today.
In her session, she elaborated on fundamental principles of Human Rights, national and international legal instruments related to the protection of women, and the ongoing challenges faced by Indonesian women in education, employment, health, and public representation. Paramitha also highlighted the importance of cultural transformation, critical education, and the role of young generations in promoting equality grounded in humanitarian values and social justice.
Her participation in this program is considered a significant academic contribution, particularly in broadening the perspectives of KMHDI cadres on gender and human rights issues. The forum also served as an inclusive and reflective space for participants to recognize their roles as agents of change within society.
The Central Board of KMHDI expressed appreciation for the knowledge and inspiration shared by Putu Dyah Pradnya Paramitha, S.S., M.A., in supporting the development of critical awareness and insight among its members. Through this activity, it is expected that more young individuals will become sensitive to women’s issues and able to apply human rights values in community life.
