The History Study Program of Udayana University has officially initiated a digitization program for old undergraduate theses as a strategic effort to preserve academic archives and enhance accessibility to research sources for students, lecturers, and the wider community. This initiative reflects the program’s commitment to supporting digital transformation and improving modern academic governance.
The digitization program is led by Putu Dyah Pradnya Paramitha, S.S., M.A., as the Head of Digitalization, accompanied by her deputy, Putri Maya Masyitah, S.S., M.Hum. Meanwhile, the Coordinator of the History Study Program, Anak Agung Inten Asmariati, S.S., M.A., provides full support for the implementation of this initiative. She emphasized that digitizing theses is an important step in ensuring the continuity of knowledge and improving access to historical studies that were previously available only in printed form.
Through this program, student theses from the early years of the History Study Program’s establishment will be converted into digital formats and systematically archived. In addition to preservation efforts, the digitization process aims to prevent physical deterioration of documents and expand their use as academic references.
Head of Digitalization, Putu Dyah Pradnya Paramitha, S.S., M.A., stated that the initial phase will focus on data collection, document eligibility assessment, scanning processes, and metadata management. She hopes that the program can be completed in stages and provide significant benefits for the development of historical research within Udayana University.
With the implementation of this initiative, the History Study Program of Udayana University demonstrates its commitment to advancing academic literacy, preserving historical archives, and supporting technology-based learning in the digital era. This program is also expected to serve as a model for academic archive digitization efforts in other faculties and study programs.
