History Departement, Udayana University together with CACI held the 27th International Conference on Excellence in Higher Education
Denpasar, February 7, 2025 – The History Study Program, Faculty of Cultural Sciences (FIB), Udayana University (Unud), together with the China-ASEAN Cross-Cultural Institute (CACI), held the 27th International Conference on Excellence in Higher Education which also collaborated with the Association of Indian College Principals (AICP), Grand Academic Portal (GAP), GLS University, and Ahmedabad India. This conference took place at the Widya Sabha Mandala Auditorium, FIB Unud. The opening ceremony was attended by the Chancellor of Udayana University, Prof. Ir. I Ketut Sudarsana, S.T., Ph.D., Dean of FIB Unud, I Nyoman Aryawibawa, S.S., M.A., Ph.D., as well as staff and units within FIB Unud.
In addition to organizing this conference, Udayana University also strengthened international cooperation with GLS University, Ahmedabad, India. This was marked by the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) by the Chancellor of Unud, Prof. Ir. I Ketut Sudarsana, S.T., Ph.D. who was accompanied by the Vice Rector for Planning, Cooperation, and Information, Prof. I Putu Gede Adiatmika, Dean of the Faculty of Cultural Sciences, I Nyoman Aryawibawa, S.S., M.A., Ph.D., Coordinator of the History Study Program, FIB Unud, Anak Agung Inten Asmariati, S.S. M.Si., together with the President of GLS University, Ahmedabad India, Shri Sudhir Nanavati.
Held for 2 days, 07 - 08 February 2025, the Conference carried the theme "Excellence in Higher Education: Leading with Vision and Impact". The event was filled with material presentations, keynote speaker deliveries, paper presentations, and panel sessions. This international conference acts as a conference that is not only a forum for discussion but also a forum for creating a better future for education.
The event began with remarks delivered by Dr. P. Baba, as Secretary General, ACIP. In his speech, he expressed his gratitude to the Faculty of Cultural Sciences, Udayana University for welcoming them warmly and warmly. Furthermore, he explained the outline of this conference, such as the objectives of this conference, the series of events at this conference, and so on.
The Chancellor of Udayana University, Prof. Ir. I Ketut Sudarsana, S.T., Ph.D. in his speech expressed his gratitude to the participants from India who had attended the event. He hoped that this conference would be a good start to strengthen relations between academics. He added that this collaboration is expected to be able to open up new opportunities that are beneficial for the development of higher education, both in Indonesia and in India.
The Dean of FIB Unud, I Nyoman Aryawibawa, S.S., M.A., Ph.D., also welcomed all conference participants and introduced the Faculty of Cultural Sciences as an institution that is always committed to improving the quality of education and research through international collaboration. He emphasized the importance of cross-country collaboration to create a more inclusive and sustainable academic environment.
The event was then continued with the Inauguration and Keynote Address by one of the main speakers at today's conference, Prof. Dr. Ni Luh Nyoman Seri Malini, S.S., M.Hum.. On this occasion, she presented material on "Education in Global Perspective and Higher Education in Indonesia Setting". After the keynote speaker agenda was finished, the event was then continued with a panel session and also a paper presentation. Both agendas were held in the Ir. Soekarno Room, FIB Unud, Denpasar campus. Various topics were discussed and presented in this session such as Educational System, Development of Higher Education, and other related topics.
The conference on the second day was held in the Ir. Soekarno Room, FIB Unud. The keynote address on the second day was delivered by Prof. Dr. Gurudutt Japee. The next agenda was a paper presentation. In this session, 8 professors and academics from various universities in India presented their discovery papers, such as Human Capital Development in India and Changing Landscape of Higher Education. In addition to presenting these topics, some of them also introduced and presented their universities. On the second day, it also coincided with the celebration of Saraswati Day, so some of the participants who celebrated the holiday performed prayers together with the academic community of FIB Unud (eben).
